This project was undertaken in three phases:
Phase One was to construct a new detached garage and covered veranda using green oak trusses and support posts.
Phase Two was the conversion of the original stable block into annex accommodation for the owners. The brickwork walls were exposed to introduce a damp proof course. Exposing some of the roof timbers, the use of reclaimed brick to form a surround for the range oven in the kitchen and the introduction of a feature stove in the living area added to the cottage feel of the finished project.
Phase Three was an extension to the kitchen creating an orangery type feel with lots of glazing using bespoke timber sash windows. The kitchen extension was linked to the family room and floor levels throughout were precise to enable herring bone hardwood parquet flooring to complete the new suite of rooms which successfully compliment the original Manse.
The clients were delighted with the end result and we were shortlisted in the FMB Master Builder of the Year 2019 awards in the renovation category.
